Who are we?
Behind the curtain of the Peace Pi Broadcasting Network are the shamans and sound wizards of the Peace Pi Traveling Medicine Show. We are a musical trio with an ensemble of guest artists and musicians that blends ancient instruments with modern audio technologies, exploring intentional vibrations and frequencies which some may associate with sound healing. This is not your ordinary sound bath. It is a high-fidelity immersive soundtrack, fueled by intention, designed to bring about a sense of peace and well-being for the participants.
At the heart of the soundscapes we create is a one-of-a-kind, electrically modified monochord primarily used for sound healing. This 40-string harp-like instrument, when strummed vibrates a physical sensation for anyone resting on the bed and provides unique drone like tones under and around a musical interludes.
Founded on the belief that peace begins within and joy and a festive happy heart are a means to peace, shamanic practitioner Robert Farthing along with sound engineers and multi-instrumentalists, Ryan Hall and Aron Orosz we provide tailored trance like journeys, played live through radio frequency headsets, in a variety of settings. From deep trance like meditations in a one-on-one setting, to small intimate group gatherings and out on stage for more festive musical offerings, we create immersive sonic spaces for conscious, cause oriented people to gather for Peace.
Ryan Hall – Audio Engineer | Sound Designer | Multi-Instrumentalist
Ryan Hall has been immersed in music since receiving his first drum kit at 12. Coming from a musical family, he grew into a versatile multi-instrumentalist, picking up piano, guitar, bass, and more along the way. By 2004, he began working as a professional audio engineer, eventually completing his training at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Arizona before moving to Hollywood to engineer live broadcast audio for clients including VH1, MTV, Logo Channel, and the White House.
Since then, Ryan has mixed over 3,000 live shows, toured nationally and internationally, and worked with artists such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Spoon, The Flaming Lips, Macy Gray, and Naughty By Nature. In Phoenix, he has helped shape the sound at beloved venues including Crescent Ballroom, The Van Buren, and The Marquee, and today he serves as senior audio lead for Walter Productions. As the technical lead, systems engineer, and music director for the Peace Pi Broadcast Network, Ryan uniquely blends performance with engineering—managing the live mix while performing—driven by a love of nostalgic sounds that move audiences and connect to the human experience.
Aron Orosz – Audio Engineer | Sound Designer | Multi-Instrumentalist
What’s that sound?” That’s the question usually asked when Aron Orosz is anywhere nearby — and the answer is always something worth hearing. A seasoned audio engineer, producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist with over 20 years of experience, Aron thrives at the intersection of technical precision and creative exploration.
A former Universal Music recording artist and current bassist for acclaimed alt-rock band 32 Leaves and post-hardcore outfit Phathoms, Aron blends technical mastery with a fearless creative edge. Whether he’s sculpting textures through modular synthesis, laying down groove-heavy basslines, or engineering pristine mixes, Aron brings a deep understanding of both the art and science of sound.
As a freelance live sound engineer and event technologies specialist, Aron supports a wide range of events and performances, bringing clarity, power, and impact to every mix. His love for modular synthesis, ambient textures, and sound design finds a natural outlet in his contributions to film scores, commercial works, and experimental sonic projects.
Most recently, he’s been performing live bass and ambient sound design with The Peace Pi Traveling Medicine Show, blending organic groove with atmospheric experimentation in immersive, transformational settings.
Robert Farthing – Shaman and Showman
Shaman and Showman, Robert Farthing has been practicing and exploring core shamanism since 2001 when, post 9-11 a broader spiritual calling emerged. An unlikely shaman, he attributes much of his formative learning and initiatory experiences to years spent with his mentor and Sat Guru, Zen Buddhist Monk, Thay Kozen. He had the honor to study with the late Michael Harner and many of the pioneering instructors at the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in mid 2000’s. Driven by a thirst for deeper understanding, he has travelled to Mongolia, Australia and throughout the southwest, sitting with and learning from the indigenous medicine men and women of the regions.
As the Showman, Robert can point to early childhood for his performative nature. An out of the womb character actor, improv player, and storyteller. He assumes the archetypal role as the traveling salesman for the Peace Pi Travelling Medicine Show, “pitching peace” as the cure-all in a funny, honest and authentic way, countering current other pitchmen on the scene selling a bill of goods. He spent 30 years as a production designer and content producer in the television and advertising industry. As the live stream host, he offers a quirky, sometimes irreverent and often times poignant perspective on contemporary media consumption, championing the causes of peace, compassion and empathy.
Holding to the knowledge that at the source of everything we are nothing but vibration and frequency, alongside his cohorts and guest artists, Robert explores the power of intentional vibrations through his primary instrument: a one-of-kind, electrically modified Monochord. Whether through deep trance like soundscapes or playfully expressed through free flowing funky grooves, he channels the ancient wisdoms of healing with high tech audio tools to support the primary mission of Peace Pi: To raise peace awareness and inspire a collective, conscious day of peace celebrated globally on Pi Day, March 14th of any given year.
